Andrew and I were watching Sex Education last night when I turned to him at one point and asked - Do people really live like that? If you watch, you know - it’s crazy and free and yes yes I know it’s television but sometimes watching people have an outrageously good time reminds you to try to have more of a good time.
So on that note I introduce you to A Design Story. While The Debrief isn’t going anywhere, I honestly don’t have it in me to dissect motherhood or life as an entrepreneur or a wife…. on a weekly basis.
So in hopes of being more consistent in sharing I am adding in fluff. But it’s fluff I care about so perhaps you will too?
Why Yellow? Well because it is warm and energizing and it reminds me of summer…
The more of these midcentury homes I come across, the more it occurs to me that eventually I need a kitchen just oozing windows. The yellow tile here almost feels neutral and I could possibly overlook the grout line cleaning nightmare for how lovely it feels with the wood and brass details.
Cafe Banacado is an all day breakfast café in Stockholm and Cajsa Carlson who wrote the article in Dezeen noted that, “using yellow throughout also helped give the cafe a warm, sunny feel.” Carlson included beautiful details about how the architect Sandström was influenced by Wes Andersen. Mille Fiori Interiors makes these beautiful candy inspired lamps that are instant style makes in any space.
Ever since I spotted this yellow sink apron on SFGirlByBay’s friday finds (see below) series I’ve been dying to use it in a brand project! Spotted by sfgirlbybay and sourced from house & garden uk and photographed by jake curtis.
Scallops & yellow is quite the delight to look at (not to mention that couch oh my). Image and rug from Tigmi Trading.
January me will definitely be ordering this shade called Butter from Gelcare. Now that I’ve finally gotten the hang of this nail system my manis are lasting three weeks and I’ve figured out how not to get the gel all over my cuticles.
And now for a yellow design pairing using two fonts & one shade of yellow (like a wine pairing without the wine):
Feeling the yellow? These limoncello sheets caught my eye and so did this super puff shorty (I break out my shorty in October usually yet today I type in a tank top).
Happy Friday!

Love this format for a change up, it’s made for the perfect breezy read this AM 🌼🍋🌞🐝.
Gelcare’s Butter has been on my wish list! And, same with those candy inspired pendants. I’ve got so many in my Etsy favourites just begging to be purchased 💗✨.
